Mini reviews, busy weeks, and Jersey Boys

HOW is it Monday again so fast?! Weekends need to not go by so fast. 😒
I am not a fan of Mondays. Or mornings. So both at once is not my favorite. Can we just live in fictional worlds where no one has to adult? Please and thank you.

What did you read this week? I finished 4 books this week and got about halfway through another, so I feel all accomplished and my TBR is glaring at me a bit less harshly than before. 😂

In order, those books are:
The 49th Mystic by Ted Dekker
It picks up in the same world as the Circle series, a few years later, and introduces a few new characters, brings back some old friends, and all kinds of new trouble ensues. It’s not a book that I would call light reading, but it’s AWESOME. I would not suggest reading it if you’re not ready to ponder some fairly big philosophical questions though. I’m still working on wrapping my head around some of it, so fair warning, but I still HIGHLY recommend it!

I Believe In A Thing Called Love by Maureen Goo
A fun, fluffy contemporary about a girl who excels at everything except romance who decides to try to get a guy using the formula of a K-drama story arc. Cute and hilarious, if sometimes awkward and painful. 😜

The Rose Society by Marie Lu
Adelina’s story  continues in this one, and it gets preeetty dark. 😳 But a fun sequel to The Young Elites, and a good lead into the finale, which is...

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu
Dark and twisty and FEELS. And Magiano. 😍 I don’t really want to say more because it would be really easy to spoil these, but the whole The Young Elites trilogy is SO GOOD. Definitely recommend. 😊

I’m currently reading When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon, and it’s super cute! I’ll put a review up on it in next week’s list!

I spent most of my Sunday afternoon taking Bookstagram pics and listening to The Way Of Kings by Brandon Sanderson of Audible, which is really good so far, but a bit slow on audio. It’s going to take a while to finish that one. I also got to see the national tour of Jersey Boys this week! The music is awesome, but I wouldn’t take kids with you for that show, because there is rough language and some content that’s not kid appropriate. 😬

Last week was busy, so hopefully this week will be a bit slower so I can get some writing done! I’m excited for this project, so let me know if you guys want me to tell you about it!

Adulting is now necessary, so until next time nerds!
Hobbit Queen out. ❤️
