Mondays, sick days, and Trope Tuesday!
Hi guys! It’s Monday again, which means new post day!! I’ll be trying to post most Mondays, and the first Tuesday of every month, because I’m hoping to start a new tag!
The first Tuesday of every month will be Trope Tuesday! On which I will post about some of our favorite and not-so-favorite tropes! I’ll be talking mostly about why we love them, why we don’t, and other such fun things, so be sure to check for that starting July 3rd!
You know those weeks when you think you’ll finally get stuff done, you have energy and time and all the caffeine and you’re ready to take on anything? Yeah, this wasn’t one of those for me. Wednesday morning I woke up with the worst. head cold. ever. Turns out, being able to breathe and move at the same time is kind of necessary, who knew? I spent Wednesday through Friday in bed doing almost nothing. But, I did manage to read 4 books, finish an audiobook I was working my way through, and get some plot points ironed out on my WIP, so aside from the breathing issues and constant sneezing, I didn’t turn completely into a slug.
For those of you who wonder which books I read this week, here’s the list!
War Storm by Victoria Aveyard
I know there are a LOT of mixed reviews on this one, especially since it’s the end of the series, but when all is said and done, I think it ended the way it needed to. It wouldn’t work as well if it ended the way everyone wanted it to.
Save The Date by Morgan Matson
Morgan Matson books are always adorable, and in many ways remind me of Cameron Crowe movies. You know what I mean? The happy fluff surrounding real issues, and the way things don’t always work out the way you wish they would, but turn out the way life actually works.
Smoke In The Sun by Renée Ahdieh
This was an AWESOME follow-up to Flame In The Mist! It was fun, and surprising, and I actually ended up liking a character that I started out loathing, so kudos for that one!
A Reaper At The Gates by Sabaa Tahir
Um. Whoa. As much as I love this series, the last 2 books I’ve spent most of the time wanting to slap some or all of the characters because this is NOT going to work out if they all keep making such terrible decisions. I love it, and will keep reading because Helene is a BEAST and I love her. But yikes.
The audiobook I finished was Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, and I actually like that series better so far on audio, the book didn’t really grab me on paper. NO SPOILERS, because I haven’t finished the series yet!!
I’m currently reading The 49th Mystic by Ted Dekker, and it’s BLOWING MY MIND. Sooo good. I’ll let you know a few more of my thoughts on that one next week!
Later nerds!
Hobbit queen out. ❤️

Wow! You really did read a lot of books this past week!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear your thoughts on 49th Mystic.
I just finished it, and I can’t. It’s going to take a while to be able to review that one. 😬
